About:
It all started in the late 1980’s, sitting around in Talladega, Alabama, trying to find the perfect location for a Williamson Bros. Bar-B-Q Restaurant. The Williamsons looked in Birmingham, Mobile, Aniston, Huntsville, Pensacola, Ft. Walton, and a few other places. While traveling in a 1988 Chevy Blazer they won with a $100 raffle ticket, going from town to town, they were looking for all the empty restaurant buildings that were available. One Sunday afternoon, they drove over to Atlanta. Without a clue as to where they were going, they exited off the South 120 Loop in Marietta and found an empty restaurant and signed a lease. The Williamsons headed back to Alabama, rounded up their one employee, John Henry McKinney, and came back to Marietta to build a barbeque pit. After several weeks of hammering and nailing and spending their entire life savings on the renovations, they had just $167.00 to their names when Williamson Bros. Bar-B-Q opened on March 24, 1990. Since then the Williamson Bros. have opened two additional restaurant locations and continue to expand their Catering and Bar-B-Q Sauce bottling and distribution.
